This 32,500-square-foot facility includes winery, wine production facility and tasting room services and was built into a hillside with three slab elevations to create a traditional gravity flow system between the upper processing porch, fermentation room and the lower barrel room. The building also features offices and an employee break room on the second floor and a tasting/viewing deck.
The foundation has multiple footing and wall steps to accommodate the changes in elevation as well as various retaining wall conditions. The second floor office/storage area is steel and wood framed with wood shear walls and the tasting deck is steel framed with a composite concrete deck. Moment and braced frames provide the lateral force resisting system at the tasting deck.
